  It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Nancy Anne Sampson Kilgore, daughter of the late Viola Anna Kilgore (nee Cronk) and the late Wylie James Kilgore. She succumbed to brain cancer after a long, arduous and courageous battle.

  Nancy was born and raised in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. She was a graduate of Sachem High School class of 1960. She earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Sociology in 1984 from the State University of New York, at New Paltz.

  Our Mom was a retired Security Hospital Treatment Assistant, at Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Hospital, in New Hampton, NY where she worked for 25 years. A woman who believed women had a place in a mainly dominated male work force; she encouraged many other women to become employees of the state.

  Nancy took care of us all, even when she was too sick to travel, she insisted on making the journey from St. Augustine Beach, FL to New York to see the College Graduations of her two youngest granddaughters: Kristina and Kiondra. She loved them, and all of her grandchildren, tremendously and her memory will carry on through them.

  A devoted mom, sister, aunt, grandma (G-ster), great grandma (GG) and friend, she is survived by her daughter, Anna-Marie and her children: Mark Negron and wife, Kristy, Technical Sergeant, Pacific Air Forces Protocol Office, USAF of Honolulu, HI, Kristina Davila and Kiondra Noe of New Hampton, NY; her son, Kenny and his longtime girlfriend, Betty Pepper of New Hampton, and his children: Nicole McGowan and husband, Mikael and Jackie Losee of Tennessee. She was the proud GG to Alexander McGowan, and Abryelle and Raiden Losee. She is further survived by her sister, Flora Belle Kerr and husband, David and their children: Alan Atzberger, Katherine Sutton and David Kerr. The father of her children, Ken Sr. survives, as well as her canine companion, Zyna and feline companion, Aces.
